Big Trouble in Turtleback Bay

Posted on May 6, 2014 in Dangerous Ponies by Mike DeCuir

Dear Diary,

It’s been a while since I’ve found some time to write. To be fair, the Ponies have been mid-siege for the past few days, and unlike *some* of my colleagues, I like to focus on not getting killed. For two guys I’d swear are illiterate,  Kali Bahn and blacktoots both seem to have their journals out between every room we enter. Maybe its a just a goblinoid thing. I’m terrified to think of what they’re putting in there though, probably just leftovers and scribbles of orc boobs.

I’d lead the charge through the fort, dropping ogres left and right in the name of Hla normal elf gods. After the sound of ogres was purged from the keep, the Ponies ceded control back to the rangers, all two of them. Next stop is White Willow and the Shimmer Glens, via the moon. This move based on some vague poetry written by the ranger captain who lost his fort to a mob of ogres. His moon girlfriend lives there or something, I don’t know. This is farfus territory, I don’t really follow small folks logic. Before bolting, I discovered a human altar to some sort of pointless farming gods that had been defiled into an altar to lamashtu. A far more interesting albeit thoroughly evil being to worship but a pale shadow to the World Shaper, or even the DeathWyrm.

Suspicious of the obviously powerful ogres’ absence in the keep, I remembered the snake woman we’d come to find, and guessed that they’d given up the fort to strike at  Turtlefat Fairy. Those white widows would have to wait as we rushed to save the town, the white versions are always a bit icy anyhow.

Upon arrival, we faced our toughest challenge yet. Swimming.  There was also some sort of creature eating the church. At first I was elated! But as I got a closer look, my keen senses noticed a distinct lack of wings and arms and I realized it was not what I assumed, but some sort of planar horror or lamashu thing. It put up a good fight, but decided to retreat after I joined the fray. If that wasn’t parade-worthy, I’m not sure what is.

Side note: Am I the only one in this group who knows how breath-weapons work, that’s like the first thing you learn in fighting. I think? No wait, those memories don’t make sense. I need to sleep on it.

Also, I’m pretty sure neth was there.
