The Dangerous Ponies began their day at Ft. Rannock a few ponies shy. Dirk stayed behind at the Dam, and Neth got sucked into the pool. Kali sat cooking sausage patties in whiskey along with Blacktooth as to strangers entered the fort. One was a dusty hooded feller with two short boomsticks, the other was riding a creature Kali had never seen. The two, “Goat” and “Hik Nik” said they were looking for Neth and that they meant him no harm, so the last three Ponies let them tag along up the blizzarded incline of Hook Mountain.
The party reached a ledge and climbed up, Kali in the lead–when a gargantuan tarantula sprung from around the corner. Kali went to poke town with his vicious trident as the other joined in. The spider shot stinky spines, of which none hit. Further into the melee, the spider managed a solid bite on Kali’s thigh. Enraged, Kali activated his daredevil boots and parkoured off the cliff wall springing down with all his might burying his trident into the center most meat and vital organs of the frenzied arachnid. With a rude twist, Kali tore the pronged trident form the spider, which crumpled and died shrieking.
Coming down from his rage, Kali took a deep gulp of whiskey and looked down at the puncture wounds which burned. Although weakened (hopefully temporarily) by the spider’s venom, Kali again took the lead toward a tunnel made of ancient blue dragon ribs. Blacktooth, of course, tried to gnaw one–but not before the party quickly dispatched another ogre and troll. Kali making a bull’s eye shot with his new trident.
At the end of the tunnel was a giant humanoid statue, armed with a massive glaive and sporting an unusual medallion. The statue crumbled as the medallion was borrowed. Not wanting to face the owner in his present state, Kali dragged the giant glaive to the edge of the cliff and dropped it.
