The town of Torch continues to decline. With the torch itself remaining unlit, the town is collapsing. Trade and work for which this town is so well regarded has all but ceased. Waste is also building up, as the torch serves as not only a clean waste disposal method, but the only disposal method.
I heard whispers here and there, and it may be that the Technic League is behind all of this. It’s been said that one of their agents extinguished the torch so that the town would collapse and therefore be easily taken over. Whoever relights the torch I suspect would be hailed as a hero, nay, a demi-god of sorts, and therefore be able to exert their will upon this town.
While spending time with friends, and discussing this very matter, we were called into duty. The long and short of it? We’re going to re-light the torch. I care not for the fame, glory, or power, but just to be able to help heal this ailing town and its citizens.
In order to reach the torch though, we must travel through water. It may not be an easy task, so we find a friend, Jorum Kite, who is able to cast a spell upon us that allows us to breathe underwater. We find out though, once there, that this water is sick, it is poisonous. Thankfully we make it through without any ill effects, but I am wary.
Soon though, we are attacked by large beetles in a cave. I do not wish to hurt them, but they do attack outright, so I won’t defend them. They too, are poisonous. This whole land seems poisoned, but from what?
Not too much farther into the cave, we come across the the unfortunate remains of Parda Garr – a popular half-orc brawler from Torch – she was well liked by all, except perhaps the one(s) who stabbed her to death. We could go further into the cave, but we feel it is more important to return her to her home, so that she may be buried properly and rest in peace (+2 diplomacy check with townspeople for 1 week).
