This tentacled being grabs Vayu, ensnaring it. The rest of the party fights it, but still, I only heal. Unfortuanetly by the time the dust settles, Gnirüt is dead and Vayu is in a cocoon. Gnirüt is beyond resurrection, and sadly there is nothing my powers can do to help him. All is not lost for Vayu, though. We are able break him out, and I heal him.
On way back with our fallen friend, a skulk stops me, putting a hand on shoulder. It tells me that Sef wants to speak with me. In my absence, the group had made an agreement to give her a share and first pick of treasure in exchange for peaceful passage.
I tell Sef that we have suffered more losses than gained goods (we found a melted axe head), and that it’s in our collective best interests to rest and rebuild our party in town. Sef seems to be sensible, and agrees. She also recognizes the melted axe head as belonging to one of the gypsy human Varisians that we’re tracking down.
We swim back just as the breathe water spell expires just on other side of river. We make back to Khonnor Bane’s house (the foundry), and while his daughter Val is not there, there is an invite on kitchen table with our names on it. The invitation asks us to come the Illustrious Tavern & Card Room, at the request of the owner Gareth Ulcher. Included is a voucher for each PC worth 100gp for entertainment in Silver Disc Hall.
We bury Gnirüt, and rest.
