The rest of our journey was pretty uneventful. No killin’ or whorin’ to be had anywhere. Jacques seems like he’s still pretty messed up. I’m still confused about that.
Anyway, we arrived at the fortress called Aldrenard’s Grave. Two “guards” peeked through the crenels and told me and the chums a plague had broke out and that the head cleric was sick. Kelmaa thought she might be able to help even though the guard guys were actin’ kind of squirrely. We went around to the gate and they gave us more lip about not coming in or we’ll get the plague too. Their faces were covered like something was wrong with them. Creepy. Preston got so frustrated he decided to scale the wall with his grapplin’ hook. I just waited, with everybody else. Finally Kelmaa talked them into opening the portcullus…
…and as we came in and they dropped it! IT’S A TRAP!
10Lo, Kelmaa, and I made it in, but poor Vayu was caught under the portcullus. Kelmaa hung back to help Vayu but not before castin’ helpful spells on me. I was surrounded by foes. Preston was on the parapet facing the two jerks that told us to go to the gate. Jacques had stayed outside. We finally saw our enemies faces… YEESH! Ugly doesn’t even begin to cover the cut up and burn mangled lips and cheeks they had. Probably cultists.
It was a hard fight. I went apeshit and my aberrant daddy issues granted me a helpful new mutation… my elbows come unhinged now. It’s pretty gross but it’s especially helpful for smashing at a distance. I killed three of the bastard single-handedly. Vayu was eventually freed by Kelmaa. Jacques made a spectacular leap into the fight diving off the battlements and thwappin’ a foe on the way down. Their leader, Axehand, who had a axe for a hand, was killed by yours truly with the help of Vayu. Team killin’ is fun sometimes!
There was some loot after the fight, but nothin’ I’m really interested in. It’s all so foreign. I’m more interested in gettin’ to who in Scrapwall sent these burn-mouthed creepers to kill the Saranite clerics here? My money’s on the Lords of Rust.
