While in Kled, we decide to meet with Drumpf, a slaver who frequently does business in Dragon’s Bowl in the hopes that his caravan might need some protection. Unfortunately, that’s a no-go. Instead, he offers up sale of one of his slaves to us. If we decide (and make it there), we can sell him for a handsome sum.
We decide to take him up on it, gather some additional supplies, and head North. While resting, I try to strike up (sorrynotsorry) some conversation with our fiery new friend investment. His name’s Rokka, and he’s a timid/quiet guy. Seems constantly surprised that he gets a full meal and a gallon of water. Every day.
We’re not bad people. Sure, we bought him and will probably sell him, but we’re not bad bad.
On the road, we get attacked by a few Thri-kreen. Those sumbitches are annoying as hell – one of ’em got me with his throwing star. Fair enough, I guess, seeing as how we got 13 pounds of food off their corpses.
The next day though, a larger party catches up from South of us – and we let them by. A real bad-news group of slavers. Thankfully, the silver-tongued Tylorre is particularly convincing, and they leave us be and proceed ahead.
That night, we come across a an encampment – it’s not the Bad News Slavers – a seemingly peaceful party that had been recently attacked by a crew of arakocra – and one had a red shirt! Moki’s shirt! Moki, By Grabthar’s hammer, by the suns of Worvan, you shall be avenged!
We decide that when we continue on, to travel with these peaceful people, led by a guy named Ched. They give us some info on Dragon’s Bane while we travel ( there are several guilds in control: slavers, miners, artisans, trappers, and scrappers ), but this is all short lived.
Also, Rokka seems scared of being sold – he’s afraid he’ll be worked to death. Perhaps he can work back his freedom with us and join The Manticorps.
We come upon a very powerful sorcerer who is very interested in Rokka. He send minions and fireballs, taking out most of the peaceful travelers, as well as Tylorre! We decide to make a run for it, but unfortunately Karyk-Klii seems to have been hit while trying to rescue the downed Tylorre.
