The “Agitator” is a Rhu-chalik, and being small in size and having a number of tendrils, it can attack *through* the bars of the cell. A tendril brushes by me, and the actual contact doesn’t hurt me, but the substance it leaves on me burns. This being – it’s not of this world. An aberration. An abomination. After a little inflection, I decide that not being natural or worldy that it is ok to do them harm – they’re in the same category to me as a zombie/rust-risen and demons.
I’m jarred from my thoughts as a set of hands grab me, and pull me back to the bars of what I thought was an empty cell behind me.
A choker – I’m assuming it to is an aberration, but I’m not sure. It grabbed me, but didn’t hurt me, yet. I decide to dispel fear on Jacques and Vayu – Vayu looked okay, but Jacques looked as though he’d been scared by the Rhu-Chalik. Wishing the Luck of Sarenrae to Jacques, I step back and out of direct danger. Vayu kicks the rhu-chalik’s cell door in so hard, it flies into cell, throwing the rhu-chalik to be back wall and landing on it. With it dead, the danger is gone.
After some healing. We check out the rhu-chalik and the chokers. Some of the chokers look freshly dead, but are not our kills – perhaps the dead ratfolk team killed them?
We continue exploring, and come across set of doors, but none of our “good” cards work. So, Jacques tries the new card. It works, but sadly breaks. I ask for the pieces – perhaps between Dinvaya and myself we can salvage it. In the next room, there’s a ladder with safety cage, leading to the roof. Atop the building is scaffolding and the dish tower above. Tenlow examines the structure, and knows exactly where to put it. We wish Jacques best of luck, and up he climbs like a monkey and sets the charge perfectly. His return however, was less than graceful.
Before detonating though, we decide to look around. In a pile of choker refuse, we get a bit unlucky and a good bit lucky. Something sticks me as I search (get diseased, but can’t make a save yet), but it’s worth it: I find 17pp! Vayu finds a translucent blue crystal ring. It is quite nice to look at, but it has a crack in it, a flaw. I detect magic: it’s a Minor Ring of Cold Resist (resists 10 cold, but will only take 30 cold damage before shattering.).
With our new finds, we head below to detonate and complete our mission. It’s perfectly placed – Tenlow was completely correct. But of course Jacques wanted to actually see it, so he left the door open a bit and had to dodge shrapnel.
The roof begins to groan, so fleeing is in order. Jacques tries to open the nearest door, to no avail. Vayu also tries, but also fails. Time is running out – so moving, even if it’s the long way around, is our only recourse. As we’re running, the building is collapsing around us, parts of the ceiling falling on our heads.
We make it out in the nick of time, and the building sends out a huge cloud of dust as it collapses behind us with a calamitous groan.
