On the stairwell heading down, we open a door and are quickly attacked by a dark creeper, and are flanked by one on each site of the stairwell attached to this landing. We’re able to dispatch them quickly, but some members of our party are poisoned by their attacks, so I take a poisoned dagger to analyze and help with heal checks.
Jacques explores a room off the stairs 9seems to be their barracks of sorts) and finds a jar with the same potion – 6 dagger doses worth. This could be handy. Of course, knowing Jaques, he’ll figure out a way to apply it to a bomb and aerosolize it.
Another room on this hallway reveals four sentrybots. Jacques (I think) rolls in an electricity-based bomb, and takes out all the robots and two of the three infernal screens! The last screen doesn’t last long, and isn’t able to affect any of us. This room though – it has large computer banks with screens displaying text in Androffan! They’re moving very quickly and my Androffan isn’t the best, but I can make some stuff out: it’s some sort of “drive by wire” routine? Perhaps instructions for driving some sort of heavy equipment. 10LO gets the impression that someone wants to drive a piece of heavy machinery out of this complex. It also looks to have been trickle charging for some time. 10lo tries to interrupt control from here, with my assistance. He can’t. So we try another way: have Aakpesh smash it. It takes a bit, but he succeeds.
The next room though? Not a good one. It’s got a dark slayer, a bunch of orcs, and even more screens. It’s an intense battle, but at least I can help by attacking the screens with my crossbow. And the dark slayer *had* a nasty little invisibility trick up his sleeve, but was caught off guard and quickly smote by Aakpesh. And the last orc standing runs to us and detonates himself. Ouch. We take out the remaining monitors, and Hellion shows up on the last one just as Jacques headbutts it to destroy it. But Hellion was on the screen, so Jacques gets touch of idiocy.
*sigh* It’s like living with a six year-old.
